Just a quick Timmy update. I hadn't seen him since a week or so ago. The last time I had seen him he was crying, going in & out of sleep & a MESS. This week he was more like himself. He was smiling, ran to me & hugged me. Playing in the street with other boys. It was good to see him happy.
Justice for him has not happened! But, today is a bit better, a bit safer & he has some people helping him.
We have so much going on right now! We are actively pursuing the need for a safe house! The need is great! A real true need, not like I need a new shirt or I need to go to the mall. This is like saving lives NEED! There are children enduring great physical & mental abuse DAILY! There is NOWHERE for them to go, there is no help!
How hopeless would you feel if you told someone you were being raped & they said okay, we now know & will check in on you, but we can't take you out of the home because we don't have anywhere for you to go. It could be 6 months till we find a spot open for you, we know a hopeless girl like this, she just tried to commit suicide for the second time. This is real! These are not just stories. There is great hurt & need. We need your help!
The first thing we need, is just to stay. We need to renew our visas. It costs about $200 per person for a total of $1400 for our family. We are asking for people to give toward this process. We definitely don't have the money. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. We need to have everything for our visas done by mid September.
You can donate right here from our blog, where it says online giving. It is super secure, easy & tax deductible. Plus your pouring into the work being done here.
The second thing is, we need some monthly supporters. God has always provided, but we know we are living way under budget. We recently found out we are living on a single mans budget to live in Cape Town, but we have a family of 7. So, basically we just need some people to partner with us financially on a monthly basis.
Thank you all for caring! Thank you for praying & supporting us financially! I'm excited to see how God works in the next few months. We see God doing big things here in South Africa.
For such a time as this,
Andrea
